an ongoing study in canvas, clay and collaboration.
It represents the combined efforts of
Christina Keith and Margaret Pankhurst.

The two artists were participating in a group show and
noticed that they both used a similar language of symbols.  
 Although they created in very different media, the work
seemed oddly compatible.  There the dialogue began, and
continues as a sort of laboratory of discovery.  

Coincidentally, they have both lived in Asia and share an
appreciation for elements in Asian design.  As a symbol of
their collaboration, they have chosen to sign their
collaborative work with a red "chop" incorporating their
crisscrossed initials.  It is a visual play on the traditional
red block signature used in several Asian cultures.  Even
though the Asian influence appears  frequently in their
work,  it is reworked and mixed to yield a unique product
that stands on its own..
